Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead gets its first trailer full of zombies

Zack Snyder can have his own cut of Justice League on the way, but it’s not the only movie he’s going to release this year. He’s also behind the new Netflix movie, Army of the Dead, which had its first trailer full of zombies on Thursday morning.

Army of the Dead seems to start around the beginning of a new zombie apocalypse. But, as the trailer shows us, this is not the typical story of survivors coming together to fight zombies and stay alive. Instead, the film follows a team of mercenaries, led by Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Stuber) who plan to make a big heist in Las Vegas, with the zombies acting as the perfect cover. Of course, the trailer informs us that this isn’t exactly the perfect crime, and things definitely get off track as soon as the undead get involved.

This is the first time that Snyder has returned to the zombie apocalypse genre since his 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. It’s also Snyder’s first time making an exclusive movie in streaming – at least depending on how you categorize Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Army of the Dead hits Netflix on May 21.
