Justice League is coming back with a new and … different cut, thanks to original director Zack Snyder. And it looks like the cut will include Jared Leto’s Joker, complete with a new look that Snyder teased on Twitter on Tuesday.
When Justice League was originally in production, there were rumors that Leto’s Joker would postSuicide squad return in Snyder’s film. But thanks to Justice LeagueWith difficult production and numerous editions, Joker did not reach theatrical release. It looks like Snyder is adding the clown crime prince back to the film for the Snyder Cut version, which will be released on HBO Max in March.
Snyder’s tweet included a photo of a gloved hand holding a Joker card, as well as a blurred image of the Joker in the background. Snyder also scored Leto and Suicide squad director David Ayer in the tweet.
While this is certainly a different look from the Suicide Squad Joker with short hair and covered in tattoos, it is not entirely surprising. In November 2020, Snyder revealed to Beyond the Trailer Grace Randolph that the Joker would get a new look. Based on the photo, it looks like we can expect a Joker with longer hair, possibly with more traditional makeup, and maybe even less tattoos.
Whatever the new look of Leto’s Joker, we probably won’t have to wait long to see it. Inside another Twitter tease, released just after Snyder’s tweet, Randolph suggests that we might have another preview on Valentine’s Day.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League, in its entirety and reissued, will be released on HBO Max on March 18.
