Zack Snyder regrets not creating Ray Fisher’s Cyborg movie before the Justice League

Cyborg is Zack Snyder’s emerging Justice League character, and it seems that Snyder regrets not doing more to help prepare Cyborg’s WB movie.

Zack Snyder regrets not having done more work to assemble a solo cyborg movie. A film starring Cyborg was announced in 2014, along with a list of DC Comics films that included Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and a two-part Justice League movie. Cyborg had a release date for April 3, 2020, but the film never happened.

Wonder Woman and Aquaman both reached the big screen and, despite all the delays and changes in director, Warner Bros. The Flash a priority. On the other hand, Cyborg appears to be a Warner Bros. character, and the cinematic side of DC has forgotten. Snyder claimed that Cyborg was the heart of his version of Justice League, and most of Cyborg’s scenes were removed or remade in the film’s theatrical cut, reducing his character’s overall presence.

In an interview with Squire, Snyder explains how he would have liked to have done more to set up the Cyborg movie before Justice League how he had to Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Wonder Woman left before Justice League, and Aquaman was released later, but Snyder helped take these two films through the development process, and both films had directors hired before the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder finished Justice League with Cyborg ready to go out on his own solo film that never materialized. Snyder said:

“I’m very sad that I didn’t press any more to set up the Cyborg movie before we shot Justice League because I had worked hard to put together Wonder Woman and Aquaman and put these films on their feet. And I really wish I did that with Cyborg because he is really standing at the end of the film. He’s really ready to go. And I just thought, well, the truth is, I just assumed it was a no-brainer that a Cyborg movie would be in the works. Do you know what I mean? It seems so obvious. “

Now a cyborg film seems even more unlikely. Although Ray Fisher expresses interest in returning to the character, he will not work on any films with Walter Hamada, who is still president of DC Entertainment. Fisher accused Hamada of trying to tamper with the internal investigation that the WB conducted on the set of Justice League remake on the behavior of Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. WB even removed Ray Fisher from The Flash film starring Ezra Miller, despite Cyborg having a role in the film.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League much serves as a Cyborg film at the center of it, as it tells its origin story and its character has the longest arc. His final scene serves as a mirror for Superman, when his father does the final narration, and he flies into the sky, deciding to use his powers for good. There was potential to explore in the future cyborg film, and maybe years later, that may still be a possibility. Some fans saw the Snyder Cut itself as an impossibility, and with Michael Keaton returning as Batman after thirty years, it is always possible that Fisher could eventually return as Cyborg when the Warner Bros. administration.
