Zack Snyder explains why the Justice League has an end of suspense, although there is no sequel

Zack Snyder – who had already explained that his version of the Justice League ends in suspense – explained why it creates a direct sequel that he doubts will happen. Snyder recently spoke with IGN’s Matt Purslow to discuss his “director’s version” of the Justice League before the highly anticipated HBO Max movie was released this month. In particular, he talked about some of the decisions he made when revisiting the project, specifically because he chose to end the film in a “massive cliffhanger”, although a sequence is unlikely to materialize.“[The new final scene] mirrors another scene that I had in the film originally, almost exactly, “explained Snyder.” I didn’t feel like I wanted to change the film. If we were to release the film, I would really like to release the film exactly as it was projected, and that is what the scene is really indicative of. “While Snyder acknowledged that he could have altered the ending of the Justice League to better tie the events of the film, he said he does not feel it is so” satisfying “to finish a genre film in this way.” It is the genre to end these films in a moment of anguish. That’s how they are, and I just felt like this is what I wanted to do, “he said.” We had worked so hard and thought so much about how the stories would continue that it seemed unfair to disrespect that work as well. “IGN also gained a little insight into how the story could have been developed for the entire two-film arc that had been originally planned. “There are a ton of cool things that we were going to do,” explained Snyder. “I was just talking about the Joker [and] Batman telling, reliving, the death of Robin. [That] it was going to be a fun journey that we would have to do. And, of course, just put the world back and fix it, and then the battle with Darkseid. All of it. It goes on and on. “

Rumors about Snyder’s Justice League 2 have circulated for years, with Kevin Smith claiming that the sequel would have seen the superheroes traveling to Apokolips to face Darkseid and would also have included the Green Lantern Corps. There were even rumors that the second film ended on a pessimistic note in the vein of Empire Strikes Back, while a third and final film was the final battle between the Justice League and Darkseid.

Fans will be able to find out more about how Zack Snyder’s Justice League sets up a potential sequel when the film opens on March 18.
