Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder) has been low on the wrestling scene since it was released by WWE. He shocked fans by appearing on AEW to help Cody Rhodes. This race was brief, but perhaps he found a new home. Cardona made his debut at Impact Wrestling tonight (16 January 2021) at Hard to kill PPV.
The setup started when Ace Austin interrupted the program to complain about not being included. He demanded to be inserted in the X-Division Championship match. Scott D’Amore had no such idea, but agreed that Austin should be on PPV. D’Amore had a special opponent in mind. This man is someone who is always ready.

Cardona took action for Austin and was on the verge of victory when Madman Fulton hit the ring to save Austin. Fulton’s violence resulted in a DQ victory for Cardona. Cardona fired back at his jump rope maneuver to send the bandits to their bags.
