Zach Strief is back at Saints as an assistant coach for the offensive line.

After Strief’s playing career ended, he spent three years calling the WWL and Saints Radio Network.

“The opportunity to help Santos FC bring another world championship is just too big for me to pass up,” Strief told WWL. “It’s time for me to go home.”

Strief, 37, played for the Saints for 12 seasons after he was chosen for the seventh round in 2006. He played 158 games, starting in 94.

Strief will miss working on the radio, but said he is ready to go the other way.

“It was my deep love for the Saints organization that pushed me into this job, and it is that same love that is sending me back,” said Strief.
