Yu Yu Hakusho Genkai Battle Spirits is closer to launch

Mobcast Games opened pre-registration in Japan for the next mobile title Battle spirits of Yu Yu Hakusho Genkai. Originally planned to be released in 2019, the game has now reappeared with a new promotion, new key art and an updated website. Mobcast Games did not provide a launch window, however, people in the region can sign up. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The title appeared in Jump Festa articles in 2019, when it was due to be released. The game was never released, but the company announced that it was developing it again in November 2020. To celebrate the opening pre-registration, Mobcast Games launched a revamped website and launched a commercial with singer Maki Goto.

The next title will be free-to-play with optional microtransactions. The game will be an action RPG with leveling mechanics. Mobcast Games is currently running a promotion where players can earn in-game currency bonuses. Depending on how many people pre-register for the title, the developer will give the provisional name Rurimaru. The first milestone will yield 150 Rurimaru players if 50,000 people pre-register.

Battle spirits of Yu Yu Hakusho Genkai will be released on Android and iOS devices in Japan. In addition, IP is coming back in more ways than one. Netflix and Toho Studios are currently in pre-production of a live-action Yu Yu Hakusho Series.
