Popular content creator Fitz has been accused of using slander while playing on the EpicSMP Minecraft server and has now responded to criticisms about his choice in words.
On January 14, Matt Watson – a member of the popular SuperMega channel on YouTube – announced the creation of the EpicSMP Minecraft server. In addition, he provided a stacked lineup of content creators and internet personalities who were invited to participate.
One of the creators of content that Watson invited to the server was Cameron ‘Fitz’ McKay, a well-known creator of games and comedies. Fitz was one of 30 personalities who would participate in Minecraft’s antics.
Days later, on January 17, Fitz was attacked for his language while streaming on the EpicSMP server. After ‘fitz’ started to become a trend on Twitter, he issued several tweets addressing the situation and explaining his point of view.

Popular content creator Fitz has been criticized for using offensive language on the EpicSMP Minecraft server.
The incident in question occurred while Fitz was streaming his Minecraft content on January 17. In a clip taken from this stream, Fitz wandered, stopped for a moment and asked himself, “What am I really doing? I am retarded. “
After a brief pause, YouTuber seemed to realize that what he said might sound offensive and commented “Can I say that? Are they going to be mad at me on Twitter? “
News of Fitz’s comments spread online after the incident, and many were quick to criticize their choice of words. Users tweeted their thoughts on how insensitive and rude the language was and criticized Fitz for using offensive words with his audience.

Others seemed less surprised and offended by the incident. Several tweets expressed surprise about the general reaction to the clip and responses such as “Fitz was canceled for that ???” flooded Twitter too.
After the drama began to unfold, Fitz responded directly to those who criticized him and said (sarcastically) “I hope that someday we will live in a world where no one can say anything at all.”
many people looking at my content do not realize that I am crazy, progressive and loving.
I’m just kidding and trying to make jokes. you can stay under pressure if you want, but I’m probably already on your side.

He went on to explain that he was only joking when the language in question was used. He closed his thoughts on the situation by pointing out that “you can be pressured if you want, but I’m probably already on your side”.
While many of his fans supported Fitz and his explanation, others still questioned the language he used. “You can say what you want, but people also have the right to dislike what you say,” replied one user.
it goes without saying. IMO, the problem is that there is no recognition of the intention or the context, so much of the indignation seems short-sighted and overly sensitive. people need to disconnect from the content they find unpleasant, instead of attacking it.

Fitz replied, “IMO, the problem is that there is no recognition of the intention or the context, so much of the outrage seems short-sighted and overly sensitive.” He suggested that people who found the language offensive “need to disconnect from the content they find unpleasant rather than attack it”.
This is not the first time that Fitz has faced criticism from the content creation community for his language or actions. In late 2020, the creator was called by Pokimane for harassment she received after Fitz joked about the two being in a relationship.
It remains to be seen how far the consequences of Fitz’s comments will spread. So far, there has been no word on the creator being removed from the EpicSMP server or any banning or suspension. We will keep you updated on any developments.
