YouTube is suspending President Donald Trump’s channel

A recent video on the Trump channel incited violence, YouTube told CNN Business. This video has been removed.

YouTube declined to share details of the video that prompted Trump to strike, but said that after the one-week time limit, it would review the decision.

Analysis: Will the deplatform make Trump and the far right disappear, move - or radicalize further?
Until now, YouTube was the only major social media platform remaining to have not suspended Trump in any way. Facebook suspended Trump’s account “indefinitely”, while Twitter banned Trump completely.
“After careful consideration and in light of concerns about the continued potential for violence, we removed the new content uploaded to the Donald J. Trump channel and issued an attack for violating our policies for inciting violence,” said a YouTube spokesman at an announcement. “As a result, according to our long-standing strike system, the channel is now prevented from uploading new videos or live streams for a minimum of seven days – which can be extended.”

YouTube also said it will take a step further to disable comments on Trump channel videos.

According to YouTube policies, winning a second strike will result in a two-week suspension and three strikes will result in a permanent ban.
