Yes, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Guy is married to ‘Boy Meets World’ Topanga

Days after going viral for apparently finding shrimp tails in his Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Jensen Karp is still trending on Twitter. Why? Because the Internet discovered that he is married to a 90s sitcom icon. Some fans may recognize Karp by his stage name: Hot Karl. He started performing at age 11, and at age 20 signed a contract with Interscope Records for almost a million dollars. In 2016, Karp released a book entitled “Kanye West Owes Me $ 300” that details his rap career, reporting on experiences with West, as well as with pop icons Sisqó and will.i.am. Ironically, Karp described the book to EW at the time as “a fish tale out of water”. Moving on to this week, again, fish puns – and literal sea creatures – surround Karp once again. On Monday, Karp posted a photo of his cereal, expressing concern about finding what appeared to be shrimp tail in the bag. Karp tweeted “Ummmm @CTCSquares – why is there a shrimp tail in my cereal? (This is not a little). ”Ummmm @CTCSquares – why is there a shrimp tail in my cereal? (That’s not a bit) pic.twitter.com/tTjiAdrnVp – Jensen Karp (@JensenKarp) March 22, 2021 In response, Cinnamon Toast Crunch assured Karp that the objects in the bag were not really shrimp tails, but sugar. cinnamon that has accumulated “which can sometimes occur when the ingredients are not well mixed.” After further investigation with our team who closely examined the image, it appears to be an accumulation of cinnamon sugar that can sometimes occur when the ingredients are not well mixed. We guarantee that there is no possibility of cross contamination with shrimp. – Cinnamon Toast Crunch (@CTCSquares) March 22, 2021 From then on, the saga just got weirder. Karp took advantage of the humor in the situation, but was still genuinely concerned about what he had eaten. As a precautionary measure, Karp asked his wife to check the other bag of Cinnamon Toast Crunch they had (as part of a family package). UPDATE: My wife has a stronger stomach than me and I checked the OTHER bag in the family backpack. This one appears glued with duct tape (?) And it also seems to include … (I don’t mean to say) … dental floss. pic.twitter.com/yKPkpx7PWq – Jensen Karp (@JensenKarp) March 23, 2021 While the findings at the exchange were worrying, people seemed more impressed by the discovery of who Karp’s wife really is: Danielle Fishel. Best known for playing Topanga in “Boy Meets World” and in the subsequent series “Girl Meets World”, Fishel married Karp in 2018, and the Internet seems to have no idea what happened. (For the curious, Fishel and Karp also have a son, born in June 2019. His name is Adler). I was years old today when I heard that the guy who said he found shrimp shells on Cinnamon Toast Crunch is Topanga’s husband. – Andy Staples (@Andy_Staples) March 24, 2021 The shrimp tail guy at Cinnamon Toast Crunch is married to Topanga and that completes the 2021 bingo for me. – Scott Hanselman (@shanselman) March 24, 2021 The guy who found shrimp tails (noun) Cinnamon Toast Crunch on your (name) on your C starinnamon Toast Crunch (former son’s name) is casado͟a starn͟ch (BrandA name) (ex-son). (I assume the universe is just doing Mad Libs to create new stories right now.) – Lucy Huber (@clhubes) March 24, 2021 Fishel herself has been relatively quiet about the situation, but has not completely ignored it. Shortly after Karp first posted about the situation, Fishel joked on Twitter that she “usually waited for lunch to eat shrimp”. I usually wait for lunch to eat shrimp. 🦐💔 https://t.co/cUT7hLFgfg – Danielle Fishel Karp (@daniellefishel) March 22, 2021 Since then, she has retweeted some memes and jokes about the saga, with Karp acknowledging the hilarity surrounding the reactions to their marriage. I learned that my wife and I were not on their bingo cards. – Jensen Karp (@JensenKarp) March 24, 2021 And yet, the plot twists have continued since then. Karp rummaged through the bag again, checking to see if he had missed anything else. On his second search, he found a piece of string and a few pieces of cereal with cooked black marks. The general consensus on Twitter seemed to be that the black marks were cooked mouse droppings, prompting Karp to call poison control. So I called Poison Control. The good news is that if it is rat poop, I won’t feel the effects of a flu-like infection for a few days. – Jensen Karp (@JensenKarp) March 23, 2021 On Tuesday, Karp posted an update saying he felt good, but would test the black pieces. He was sent to pest control and did not post an update on the findings. However, Karp posted an update on the objects that started this saga, revealing that a professional “crustacean researcher” is now working to definitively identify the pieces as shrimp tails. I am happy to report: a carcinologist (crustacean researcher) working at NHMLA will morphologically identify the shrimp using microscopy and will work with a team of researchers to use DNA to try to identify the putative shrimp in species. IS HAPPENING. – Jensen Karp (@JensenKarp) March 24, 2021 Read the original story Yes, the Cinnamon Toast Crunch guy is married to ‘Boy Meets World’ Topanga At TheWrap
