You will soon be able to upload files up to 250 GB to OneDrive, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint

Soon, Microsoft will allow you to upload even larger files to OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint, increasing the limit from 100 GB to 250 GB. The larger file size limit can be good news for people who are working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic and need to upload large projects like 4K and 8K video, CAD files or scientific data sets to the cloud for that can be shared with colleagues and customers. The move will also be transferred to OneDrive for personal use, according to Microsoft, which could make it easier to upload large collections of photos or videos.

Microsoft says the 250 GB file size limit will begin to be implemented in late January. The company expects the new limit to be widely available by the end of this quarter.

This is Microsoft’s second recent increase in file upload sizes – the company increased from 15 GB to 100 GB last July.
