Yoko Ono and Janie Hendrix are among the main responsible for the new music channel, the Coda Collection, which will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The channel is named after the new multimedia company Ono and Hendrix, co-founded by CEO Jim Spinello, director / producer John McDermott and veteran entertainment lawyer Jonas Herbsman. Sony Music Entertainment is a capital partner. The channel is launched on February 18th.

The channel will feature rare shows and new documentaries, as well as debut films, alongside other musical programming. The Coda Collection desktop and mobile sites will feature editorial content directed by esteemed music critic Greg Kot. The editorial component will provide “new perspectives on artists, music and the cultural context that makes these moments resonate with audiences worldwide,” according to a statement.
Music, money, madness … Jimi Hendrix on Maui, The Rolling Stones in the air, Johnny Cash in San Quentin and Miranda Lambert: Revolution Live by Candlelight will make its debut in streaming during the launch of the channel. Recently filmed, exclusive performances will also debut, including sets from Jane’s Addiction and Stone Temple Pilots. At launch, Amazon Prime members will have access to 150 titles through the Coda Collection for $ 4.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial. New content will be updated regularly.
Bob Dylan’s streaming debut Do not you worry anymore, Dave Grohl’s next authorized documentary and Dead & Company performances are also scheduled for the channel. Other future offerings include original episodic music programming series and rare performances by Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Avett Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tyler Childers, Billy Strings, Paul Simon, AC / DC and more musicians. Archive titles, rare and unpublished featuring Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and other seminal artists will also air.
