Yelp allows you to move around in places that don’t impose masks and social distance

Yelp is adding a new option that allows customers to provide feedback on whether a company is applying the COVID-19 security guidelines, the company announced today. Initially, users will be able to report whether a company’s employees are wearing masks and are applying appropriate social detachment guidelines. The goal is to “inspire consumer confidence to continue supporting local businesses,” says Yelp.

You can provide feedback on a company’s security measures through its Yelp page, through survey questions, or by tapping the “Edit” icon in the upper right corner of a page’s COVID-19 updates section. The list will display a green or orange check mark next to the security measures listed, depending on what most users report. The icons shown will be based on a general consensus of the visitors and count only the responses from the last 28 days.
