‘Yellowstone’ prequel Y: 1883 announced with Super Bowl ad

Attention, parents! The most watched program on cable TV in any way, Yellowstone, will have a prequela of its own, to explore how the Duttons came to live and fight for their extensive land, generations before the land fights of the current series. Entitled Y: 1883, the series will be an honest period piece for good on western expansionism, produced by executives Yellowstone creators Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Y: 1883 it is described in a press release as following “the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west across the Great Plains towards the last bastion of untamed America. It is a reinterpretation of western expansion and an intense study of a family fleeing poverty in search of a better future in the promised land of America – Montana ”. The series will be broadcast on Paramount +, ViacomCBS ‘new and sophisticated brand change to the streaming platform formerly known as CBS All Access, as part of a larger multi-series streaming deal with Sheridan. The streaming service already has Christine Baranski’s stans in the palm of her hand, and Y: 1883 will certainly conquer its polar opposites, the Frasierparents from all over the world.

Paramount + will tease the show with a small announcement during Sunday’s Super Bowl LV.
