Observations of the Yankees spring training game on Wednesday.

Prospect watch

Yoendrys Gomez took the field to launch the final inning of the Yankees’ 8-0 defeat by the Phillies in 15-0 in Clearwater, Florida, and his goalless exit showed why he is considered by Baseball America as the organization’s eighth overall outlook . The 21-year-old right-handed spent 2019 on Single-A Charleston and was placed on the list of 40 players this season. He reached 97 mph with the gun on Thursday.
