Yankees agree to deals with DJ LeMahieu, Corey Kluber and others

The Yankees checked many items on the off-season list today. Hungry fans swallowed the Yankees news party today, having woken up to find out that DJ LeMahieu will be in our lives for another six glorious years. They later found out that Corey Kluber was going to be a Yankee before ending the night.

Although Kluber was an attractive option on the market for many teams that needed an experienced starting pitcher, its potential effectiveness was uncertain due to the reality of the two-time Cy winner being 35 years old. He was an ace, although he hasn’t had an entirely healthy season since 2018. Considering that he made the Yankees bite, Kluber must have made a convincing performance during his scout showcase before today. Perhaps its value is clearer now, or at least the Yankees seem to think so. If Corey Kluber is at least a decent facsimile of Cleveland’s Corey Kluber – the guy the Yankees respected (but still in 2017) – well, then it’s a pleasure to end the day with the news of your welcome to the Bronx .

Wow!! Not to mention all the contractual agreements signed between our lovely bookends LeMahieu and Kluber. Let’s look at what the usual suspects have to say about the news-filled day and examine the impact of all these new deals and deals.

First of all, Yankees fans everywhere started the day on the right foot.

Later, a nice drink.

The man looks good on, uh, stripes with Photoshop.

Although it is probably necessary to shave, as Anthony Castrovince, a former Cleveland beat writer, noted.

Jake Storiale dropped the microphone at all of us with his clairvoyant vision foreseeing Kluber’s arrival. This was a big day for Jake, considering he sucks.

You can feel some passive aggression in Jeff Passan’s tweet. Your ego may have been a little hurt. You see, Jake and Passan have something. A little-known story, if you will. Explore if you want.

Anyway, here is the essence of everything in between, which basically amounts to the nuts and bolts of the Yankees squad in 2021.

The Yankees came to terms with almost everyone we were thinking about: Clint Frazier, Fort Chad Green, Aaron Judge, Jordan Montgomery, Gary Sánchez, Gleyber Torres, Gio Urshela and Luke Voit. All of them have one year contracts without guarantee, avoiding arbitration.

I’m here for Tyler Wade’s main DJ show.
