Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra leaks with 120x zoom, rear display, more

Although there are rumors and provocations, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has not yet been released, but a practical video leak gave us an idea of what appears to be a totally insane smartphone with Android.

A practical video appeared briefly on the internet, courtesy of a Filipino YouTuber who attended Tech Buff PH before being removed. However, as usually happens, once the cat is out of the bag, the internet never forgets. The video was resent, allowing us to check out this genuinely insane smartphone for the first time.

With many smartphones promoting 10x zoom capabilities and up to 100x courtesy of periscope zoom lenses and digital cropping, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra appears to come with a 120x zoom capable camera. In fact, this is not new to Xiaomi hardware, as the insane Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra also highlights enhanced zoom capabilities.

The huge overhang of the rear camera contains more than just cameras. However, the triple camera setup appears to be tasty with a 50 megapixel primary sensor, 48 megapixel ultra wide angle and 48 megapixel periscope zoom lens. If it looks like the larger camera panel made famous by the incredible Cyberpunk 2077 OnePlus 8T, and, well, Xiaomi has augmented things with a real small secondary screen inside this big camera box.

Now, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is not the first to come with a secondary screen, as we even analyzed a remarkable effort by Nubia in the form of the Z20. Unlike the Z20, however, the Mi 11 Ultra has a much smaller usable secondary display. This can be useful for framing and it is not really clear how it will work in practice – it seems to show the complete MIUI 12.5 interface. We can only assume that it is a fully functional screen, but in this tiny format.

Other notable specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra include a 6.8-inch QHD + AMOLED panel with 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, 5,000 mAh battery with 67W wired charge and reverse wireless charging 10W. You can check out the full Tech Buff PH video, which was re-hosted below, but it’s important to note that the entire video is in Filipino (via XDA):
