Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has 120x zoom and mini second screen: report

The Xiaomi Mi 11 was launched recently in Europe with the expectation that the phone’s Lite, Pro and Ultra iterations will be launched soon. In a YouTube video now offline, the Ultra was apparently revealed and boasted a very unusual range of cameras.

Although the original Tech Buff PH video was set to private, a mirror of the original is still available, showing a huge rear camera that, while it may be fake, looks quite convincing. The model number M2102K1G corresponds to an earlier rumor of the model name “K1” declared by kacskrz, which is a historically reliable source for Xiaomi devices. XDA Developers lists some other reasons why this leak appears legitimate in your report here.

If the device shown in the video is real, the impact of the camera on the Mi 11 Ultra is substantial. Tech Buff PH says the unit will have a 50 megapixel main sensor, a 48 megapixel wide angle and a 48 megapixel periscope zoom telephoto lens. On one of the two phone models that Tech Buff shows, the text in the camera array reads 120X Ultra Pixel AI Camera, while the text on the other reads 120X, 12-120 mm, 1: 1.95-4.1. It is a little strange that the text on the two phones is different, but this can also be attributed to the pre-production nature of the devices.

If Xiaomi were to stop there, the camera array would not be much different than what was seen on other similar cameras, but the model shown adds a unique feature: a second tiny screen next to the camera lens.

In some of the clips on which the screen is shown, the entire screen in front of the device is visible on that tiny screen, which seems impractical. the second screen is more likely to be designed to be used for selfies, which would allow you to take advantage of the high-quality rear cameras instead of relying on the generally much worse front camera.

What is strange is that this particular version of the phone seems to mimic exactly what is happening in front of the phone, and it is not clear why this would be a desirable feature. Either that is just a side effect of the prototype nature of the device’s software or it is a possible obstacle that may indicate that the claim of authenticity is false.

Whatever the case, if this leak turns out to be true, the compensation for these camera features appears to be a truly gigantic physical bump. In several images, this protrusion is shown significantly elevated on the back of the phone and probably carries a noticeable weight with that physical size jump.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was not expected to fall this month, so seeing a leak so far is a bit of a surprise and could be an indication that more leaks are coming.
