Xiaomi Mi 10i faces the OnePlus Nord, offering much more return on your investment

Xiaomi has a bad habit of relaunching slightly different variants of extremely similar phones for different markets, and it appears that the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is the latest device for this treatment. Today, the company unveiled a surprisingly similar Mi 10i made for the Indian market, coming with a 108MP primary camera, a 6.67-inch screen and the Snapdragon 750G.

Like many Xiaomi phones, the Mi 10i offers excellent hardware at a low price, starting at just $ 20,099 (~ $ 275). The device comes with a 6.67-inch 1080p LCD screen at 120 Hz, protected by Gorilla Glass 5, which occupies almost the entire front of the phone, although there is a noticeable chin at the bottom. The 16 MP front camera is located at the top center of the screen. At the rear, you’ll find a set of cameras that consists of four lenses in the upper middle, arranged on a circular ledge. It consists of the main camera of 108MP, an ultra-wide of 8MP, a macro of 2MP and a depth sensor of 2MP.

The Mi 10i is powered by a Snapdragon 750G, which offers some notable AI improvements over its predecessors and better performance. A 4820mAh battery should provide the phone with enough power for one day and supports 33W fast charging, which allows it to go from zero to 100% in less than an hour according to Xiaomi measurements. There is also liquid cooling on board to slightly relieve the battery and processor. Three storage configurations are available: 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, 6 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 128 GB.

Compared to many competitors, the Mi 10i has a wide range of excellent items: dual stereo speakers, a headphone connector, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, an infrared, expandable storage and an IP53 certification. It’s a bummer that the preinstalled MIUI 12 is still based on Android 10, so let’s hope it doesn’t take too long to update the phone to the latest version.

Xiaomi says the Mi 10i will have a hands-free experience for several voice assistants simultaneously through a post-launch OTA update, which can certainly be interesting. As for the “i for India” brand, Xiaomi claims that the phone is the first to be launched with the new Navic GPS alternative, which should allow for more precise positioning and faster location blocks in the country.

The Mi 10i will only be available in India, starting from $$ 20,099 (~ $ 275) for the 6 GB + 64 GB variant and a maximum of $$ 23,999 (~ $ 325) for the 8 GB + 128 GB version – reducing the OnePlus Nord, which starts at $$ 24,999 in India. The Mi 10i comes in three colors: Atlantic Blue, Midnight Black and Pacific Sunrise. You can ask Xiaomi to notify you as soon as the Mi 10i is available at your store.
