Xiaomi confirms that Mi 11 does not come with charger in the box

In an official Weibo post, Xiaomi co-founder and CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the The Mi 11 box will not come with a charging block. That sounds surprising, right? Why would you mock a competitor and then follow suit? Well, Jun exclaims (translated from Chinese into English) that this change is in ‘responding to the call for technology and environmental protection.’

In the Weibo post, Jun says that Xiaomi will reveal a ‘best solution between industry practice and environmental protection’ at the launch event on Monday. Xiaomi will be the first Android phone manufacturer not to offer a charger in the box. Samsung will follow next, according to the leaks, and the Galaxy S21 retail box will also not include a charging pad.
