Xena vs. Hercules: Twitter TV star feud over Capitol protests attracts social media reaction

It was a clash of superheroes, all on social media.

“Xena: Warrior Princess” star Lucy Lawless took aim at her former castmate, “Hercules” actor Kevin Sorbo, on Thursday, because of a comment he made, speculating on political opinions of some of the protesters who invaded the United States Capitol this week.

The drama began when Sorbo, a Republican, responded to a tweet on Wednesday that included a photo of some of the Capitol protesters, along with the caption: “Do they look like Trump supporters? Or leftist agitators disguised as Trump supporters. . “

“They don’t seem patriotic to me …” Sorbo replied.

Despite reports detailing the enraged crowd as Trump supporters, some support the theory that Antifa members may have been hiding among protesters.

Almost 24 hours after Sorbo’s original tweet, Lawless responded with some fierce criticism to his former castmate.

“No, Peanut. They are not Patriots,” she wrote. “They are your flying monkeys, homegrown terrorists, QAnon actors. They are the d —– bags that come out and carry out the evil orders of people like you, who like to roll them up like toys and let them do the worse. #keepingYourFilthyHandsclean #Facilitator

Lawless originally led the character, Xena, on the TV show “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”, with Sorbo playing the lead role, before getting the popular derivative show “Xena: Warrior Princess”, which was shown from 1995 to 2001.

“2021 day 8: Hercules and Xena are fighting,” replied another.

“I’ve always preferred Xena to Hercules,” wrote another, apparently in the corner of the former TV warrior.
