Lucy Lawless, perhaps better known as “Xena: Warrior Princess”, is rocking and naming, as always.
Yesterday, the New Zealand-born actor connected to Twitter and chose verbal violence – against his fellow mythical actor Kevin Sorbo, who many remember as the “Hercules” of television. The two icons of the 90s were known for their crossovers in series, in which the two characters would defeat all kinds of folk monsters and fairytale villains.
But in the real world, Lawless aims to defeat a different kind of rival: baseless claims about Capitol rioters.
Sorbo tweeted a response to a surreal portrait of three protesters who rushed to the Capitol, including prominent conspiracy theorist Jake Angeli, widely known as This one guy who appeared in DC shirtless and heavily painted in red, white and blue, wearing a horned headdress, covered with fur.
“They don’t look patriotic to me,” said Sorbo on January 6, in a retweet shared by Rogan O’Handley, a DC attorney with #MAGA on his profile. “Do they look like Trump supporters? Or left agitators disguised as Trump supporters … ”O’Handley asked in his original tweet.
“No, Peanut,” Lawless responded – paternally – to Sorbo’s retweet, going after his and O’Handley’s baseless allegations. “They are not Patriots. They are your flying monkeys, homemade terrorists, QAnon actors. They are the idiots who go out and do the evil orders of people like you, who like to roll them up like toys and let them do their worst. “
She concluded with the hashtags #KeepingYourFilthyHandsClean and #enabler.
The original claim that the photo depicted disguised Antifa actors also received a warning from Twitter, reading in part: “There is no evidence so far to prove that Antifa activists were part of the crowd that entered the building on Wednesday, according to the fact – Snope checkers, PolitiFact, BuzzFeed News and other organizations. “
Lawless’s replica since then went viral with 42,000 likes and almost 10,000 retweets – so popular that even his fans have accumulated waste.
“Lucy Lawless, as tough as her namesake. Love her forever, ” wrote Timo Tjahjanto, which has about 40,000 likes based on Lawless’s linguistic lashes.
“Xena doubling Hercules is the content I’m here for ™”, tweeted to @valhallabckgirl. His praise also garnered 32,000 likes.
Comedian Patton Oswalt also shared a screenshot of the exchange with Sorbo. “DAAAMN @RealLucyLawless,” he tweeted, alongside three “100 point” emojis.
