Microsoft’s official list price for the new Xbox is $ 500 or $ 300, depending on the model. THE Xbox Series X (which comes with an optical drive and 4K resolution outputs) costs $ 500, while the more modest Xbox Series S costs $ 300. The S Series has a slower processor, less internal storage, 1440p output on instead of 4K and no optical drive. Despite stock shortages, all major retailers continue to respect that price and sell consoles at Microsoft’s list price. This is a cold consolation, however, because the chronic out-of-stock status means that the only real market for the Xbox Series X / S is through retailers, where it is regularly sold for no less than double price.

For months, whenever retailers take stock and release units for sale, they sell out in minutes, thanks in large part to the use of bots by resellers who complete transactions much faster than any human. Some retailers have started to crack down on these retailer bots, but the bots continue to prevent many people from getting consoles. These consoles purchased by bots are being resold at a premium price. On eBay, for example, you can find the Xbox Series X with prices between $ 700 and $ 1,100. Some of the more expensive offers are actually packages that include accessories and games, but they are still extremely expensive and do not have a good value, especially since you probably would not buy the included accessories if you could choose freely.
We’ve been offering the same advice for months: Wait until you get an Xbox Series X for $ 500 retail price and avoiding resellers and packages.
Meanwhile, Xbox refills happen regularly, and players with fast reaction times have managed to steal a console. We are keeping an eye on stock drops and warn when one is imminent. Be sure to check out our Xbox Series X replenishment status article for more details. Below is a list of all the major retailers (and some reputable retailers, if absolutely necessary) to help you get your own console.

It is highly recommended to wait for the stock to appear in regular stores, so that you can buy an Xbox Series X at the regular retail price. If you can’t wait, you can find Xbox Series X consoles on eBay with bids starting at around $ 500, but actual selling prices are close to $ 850 and above.
If you are willing to pay hundreds of dollars in addition to the list price, then StockX is a well-regarded eBay style site that allows you to purchase new Xbox consoles. That said, the lowest price we found is around $ 650 and an average closer to $ 800.
