The Xbox Series X remains difficult to find more than half of February. Although the console was launched three months ago, retailers still do not have consoles available regularly. The Xbox Series S is also hard to find in stock, but it’s certainly easier to pick up than the Series X. Last week, GameStop had Series S packages available for almost an entire day. Don’t expect the X Series situation to improve much in the coming months, as Microsoft recently admitted that the X Series stock | S will be “limited at least until June,” according to The New York Times. The company apparently sold all units of the Xbox Series X | S it owned in the last quarter and did not release any specific news of refueling for 2021.
So, what does this mean for those who still want to buy an Xbox Series X or Series X? We probably won’t see widespread Xbox restocking until this summer, and you probably won’t find one on the shelf at your local Walmart or Best Buy. This does not mean that buying one of the new Xbox consoles is impossible. Online retailers have been offering small online stocks sporadically throughout the early 2021 so far, including a relatively large restock at all major retailers last month (the largest we’ve seen since Black Friday). The Xbox Series X and Series S continue to sell out in minutes whenever they go into stock, so buying one is a matter of luck and being ready on time. Early warning is rarely given for a refueling of the Xbox Series X, but sometimes Walmart or GameStop announce an upcoming refueling the day before.
If any retailer announces the Xbox Series X or S refueling times in the coming weeks, we’ll include those details here. It may take a few weeks before you actually get the system after ordering, so keep this in mind when planning downtime. We have seen some stores offer expensive packages that are also available more often. Others are even offering occasional discounts on packages with extra controllers, but these are relatively rare. You are currently unable to find the console in retail stores without a withdrawal request.
While you can more easily buy the Xbox Series X above the MSRP on retailer sites like StockX, we recommend waiting to buy the new Xbox for a list price of $ 500. And unless you’re really desperate, avoid packages expensive ones that come with accessories and games that you don’t really need.

Xbox Series X availability on GameStop
GameStop replenished the Xbox Series X and Series S on January 27, but it was only available for purchase as a package. The retailer also replenished the S Series packages on February 9.
Xbox Series X availability at Best Buy
We don’t know when you’ll be able to buy an Xbox Series X from Best Buy again. Best Buy did not have any Xbox Series X or Series S units in stores in 2020, but the retailer said the stock will be on store shelves this year. We do not know an exact date for when in-store inventory will be available, however. We saw next-generation consoles appearing on the Best Buy website without much notice. The Xbox Series S was available on December 28th. It tends to outlast the Series X whenever it is refueled.
Availability of Xbox Series X at Walmart
Walmart last replenished the Xbox X Series and S Series on February 4 and gave hopeful buyers (and retailers) an hour’s notice. Walmart’s last refueling started at 12pm PT / 3pm ET and sold out immediately; consoles were then offered every 10 minutes until they ran out forever. Walmart refueling has been particularly frustrating. While having advance notice is convenient, it also ensures a large flow of traffic to the site at once, and you often don’t even see the “add to cart” button before you run out (or click the “add to cart button” will show a message saying the item is out of stock.)
Xbox Series X availability on Amazon
We don’t know when you’ll be able to buy an Xbox Series X from Amazon again. Amazon had very little stock of the Xbox Series X | S since the launch of the consoles on November 10, and there is no news of a refueling in the near future. Amazon’s listings even say, “We don’t know when or if that item will be back in stock.”
Xbox Series X target availability
Target had the Xbox Series X last available for purchase on January 24. This time, it was available for shipping instead of just being picked up at the store, and the system did not appear to have been immediately stolen by bots.
Xbox Series X availability at other retailers
The Antonline online store tends to have Xbox packages in stock quite regularly, especially the Xbox Series S.
We saw sporadic refills at the Microsoft Store, but they are never announced in advance. The last refueling of the Xbox from the Microsoft store itself was on January 25 overnight.
If you lose inventory from major retailers, dealer websites like StockX have many units available, although you are prepared to pay more than the list price. Buyers are currently asking for around $ 420 for the S Series and $ 700 for the X Series. If you buy from a reseller, make sure that the Xbox console you are buying has the right type of plug for your region.

The great advantage of Xbox Series X accessories is that the vast majority of Xbox One compatible products also work with the Series X and S, including headsets and controllers.
New Xbox Wireless controllers launched alongside the Xbox Series X and Series S, and are available in Carbon Black, Robot White and Shock Blue. They feature a more ergonomic design; textured grips on the bumpers, triggers and rear box; and a hybrid D-pad inspired by the Elite controller for greater accuracy. The updated controllers also have a new integrated Share button to capture and record game moments.
Xbox Series X Games | S and Game Pass subscription
Microsoft is promoting its Xbox Game Pass subscription to the next generation, which grants access to a huge rotating game library for a monthly fee, including the ability to play original games like Halo Infinite on the first day. New subscribers can sign up for the first month of Game Pass Ultimate for $ 1 – do so before taking advantage of Game Pass online offers. You will also receive an extra month of Game Pass Ultimate for free if you activate recurring billing (it must be disabled before you can redeem a code to get the notice).
