Xbox Live is now called the Xbox network

Microsoft has officially renamed Xbox Live to Xbox Network. The Xbox online experience will be updated to reflect this new name. Originally reported by The Verge, Microsoft issued an official statement confirming the name change. “Xbox Network” refers to the underlying Xbox online service, which has been updated to the Microsoft Service Agreement, “said a Microsoft spokesman in a statement to The Verge. “The upgrade from ‘Xbox Live’ to ‘Xbox network’ aims to distinguish the underlying service from Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.”

Xbox Live Gold is Microsoft’s long-standing online subscription service where, for $ 9.99 a month, players will have access to online games, as well as some free monthly games through Games With Gold.

Xbox Series X games confirmed

Xbox previously announced an increase in the price of Xbox Live Gold that would double the price of the service, but changed the course and said prices will not change. In addition, free games, such as Fortnite, will no longer need Xbox Live Gold to play online.

Xbox also added Xbox Live Gold benefits to its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which also includes access to Xbox Game Pass for a total of $ 15 per month.

With the name change, this means that Microsoft’s online services will now be called the Xbox Network. The subscription to access the game online will still be called Xbox Live Gold, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also include access to the Xbox Network, along with the game library.

It sounds simple enough, right?
