The Xbox Live online platform for console players suffered a major disruption on Thursday afternoon, with players from around the world leading to Twitter to report login issues.

But at the end of the day, the problems seemed to have been resolved. Around 6:30 pm PT, the Xbox support team tweeted that users can once again sign in, complete purchases, and participate in chat sessions. On Friday morning, the Xbox status page listed all online functions as active and working.

The outage appears to have started shortly after noon (Pacific Time) on Thursday. “We are aware that users may not be able to sign in to Xbox Live at this time,” the company’s support account tweeted Thursday afternoon. “Our teams are investigating to correct this problem.”

Users can also having problems with buying content and group chat also, Xbox Support tweeted on Thursday.

It’s not the Xbox’s first flaw in recent memory – the platform went through a difficult patch in 2020, with multiple interruptions as players flocked to the entertainment platform in the middle of the pandemic.
