The Xbox Game Pass has already had a major update this year, with EA Play being added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions in addition to all the games that are routinely added, and if a new rumor spreads as people expect, there may be another one signature to wait for next year. The new rumor about Xbox Game Pass plans for 2021 suggests that the Ubisoft + service, which offers people instant access to more than 100 Ubisoft games for a flat fee, will also be added to the Xbox Game Pass, probably through subscriptions Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as EA Play was.
Rumors about the Xbox Game Pass getting Ubisoft + subscriptions to the package circulated online this week, with many crediting the Xbox Worlds website as the source. Although the rumor may have surfaced in forums and other discussions, Xbox Worlds has included it in a list of the biggest alleged Xbox rumors out there now.
This in itself is not much to reinforce the rumor, as theories like these float on forums and discussion forums frequently, but others have weighed in to make the rumor seem more likely. Jez Corden of Windows Central, who has a good history of news related to Windows and Xbox, said he believes there is a “strong chance” that the rumors are correct based on what he heard.

I imagine it would be a safe or a smaller slice of old games, but crazier things happened. I always thought EA Play would be an extra layer of Game Pass, but they just brought that bad boy. I think we’ll see.

The point about Ubisoft + possibly adding a smaller selection of games to the Xbox Game Pass as opposed to your entire vault is something that was suggested online along with the initial rumor. Considering how many games Ubisoft offers through the service and how it obtains new releases from Ubisoft at launch, just as the Xbox Game Pass does with the original games, this would leave many Xbox owners far less inclined to buy new Ubisoft releases on the first day. EA Play works in a similar way to both services and was included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions without qualifications, so there is always a chance that the same could happen with Ubisoft + next year.
