Xbox Game Pass PC subscribers will receive more than 60 EA games on March 18

EA Play is a service advantage within a service for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on consoles and, as of tomorrow, also on PC

After a longer-than-expected release, Xbox Game Pass subscribers on PC will soon be able to play several games published by EA at no extra cost – including Star Wars: Squadrons. Game Pass and EA Play are coming together. Although this has already happened on Xbox consoles, the PC side has been strangely slow. The official start date? March 18 at 2 pm Pacific time. Hey, this is tomorrow!

If you’re not sure where to start with these things, there’s a little hassle before you can access your free games with a subscription. You will need to download the EA Desktop application, log in with a current or newly created EA account and link it to your Xbox account. I know I know. Many steps.

That said, the actual process is quite simple: try to install an EA Play game via the Xbox app on the PC and the system will point you in the right direction with respect to the EA app.

It is also worth mentioning that you do not have to “sign up” for EA Play. It is an automatic advantage.

You can find an updated list of the EA Play games included here; highlights include Jedi: Fallen Order, Titanfall 2, An outlet, Unveil two, Sporeand 10-hour testing of new games (click “View Games” in the Xbox app). In all, there are more than 60 PC games. Many are not what you would consider “recent”, but they hold up well.

If you have the Xbox Game Pass for PC or the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, drop it. I’ve said this before, but for the most part, “renting” EA games is my preferred method. The Game Pass makes it easier.
