WWE Royal Rumble results: unsuccessful ending, Roman Reigns retains universal title

In this year’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view semi-main event, Roman Reigns put his Universal Championship into play against Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing Match.

They started in the ring, but quickly made their way around the ring area and to the stage area near the equipment table where Owens was pushed a few weeks ago. They climbed to the top level through the LED screens and Owens hit Reigns’ left knee with shots in the chair.

Owens was thrown off the platform and across a table, but he managed to get up at the 9th count. Owens made his way to another part of the stadium and out of nowhere Reigns ran him over with a golf cart. Owens went on a vicious attack after Reigns made a comment about his grandfather. Owens placed Reigns on a table with a splash of frog, but Reigns was able to get up before the count of 10. Owens then dropped a senton bomb on a raised forklift and through Reigns, who was placed on a table. They sang “holy shit” for the place.

Owens brought Reigns back to the ThunderDome. Reigns struggled with a punch from Superman and a spear on the stage’s LED screens, but Owens was able to roll off the stage and stand before the ten count. Owens handcuffed Reigns to a piece of stage equipment and the referee was about to count to 10, but Reigns grabbed the referee and slammed his face into the steel frame. A second referee appeared while Paul Heyman tried to free Reigns from the handcuffs. Apparently, there was a problem with the key and it took Heyman forever to remove Reigns’ handcuffs. The judge really stopped counting when he realized that Reigns was still handcuffed. Reigns stuck in a guillotine in Owens and that was enough for him to win because KO couldn’t get up.
