WWE backstage news: Removing Batista from the Hall of Fame list

Batista is no longer scheduled to be sworn in at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

WWE.com removed it as part of the class, and its induction page currently says “access denied”. Batista’s WWE.com profile also omits the “Hall of Fame” logo that other Hall of Fame members have on their roster page.

Ringside News reported for the first time that Batista would not be part of this year’s ceremony. According to Fightful Select, the plan is for Batista to be included in the Hall of Fame “when a full crowd can have fun”.

The 2021 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony was confirmed to take place at this year’s virtual WWE ThunderDome, despite WrestleMania go on air in front of a live audience. WWE is reportedly scheduled to record the ceremony this year on March 30 and April 1, and broadcast it on the WWE Network a week later, on April 6.

The 2021 ceremony will include guests from the 2020 and 2021 classes, including Eric Bischoff, Molly Holly, the Bella Twins, JBL, Jushin “Thunder” Liger, the British Bulldog and the nWo.

Stay tuned for updates at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame.
