Wu-Tang Clan to release photo album in 400 pound camera

Wu-Tang Clan is launching a limited edition photography book, Wu-Tang Clan: Legacy. The large-format photo book features over 300 pages of images and is encased in a sculpted 400-pound camera.

“From conception to the present day, this is the story of the biggest undisputed hip-hop group of all time, revealed through rare and never-before-seen photos,” said John “Mook” Gibbons, CEO of Wu-Tang Clan Management, in a statement.

According to the book’s official website, only 36 editions will be produced, each signed, dated, numbered and with a certificate of authenticity. The book features images from famous photographers, including Danny Hastings, ProTim Photo, Kyle Christie and Andy Cantillon, as well as images taken by the band’s family and friends.

Each book will be printed and bound in leather in Italy and will be wrapped in a black steel chamber inlaid with bronze designed individually by the sculptor Gethin Jones. The design was inspired by the bronze ritual bowls of the Zhou Dynasty, an ancient period considered the height of Chinese bronzeware manufacturing, and its first ruler was King Wu-Wang.

Information about “priority access” to the book is available through an email on the book’s publishing site.
