WR TY Hilton returning to Indianapolis Colts on a $ 10 million contract for a year, agents say

Wide receiver TY Hilton is returning to Indianapolis Colts on a $ 10 million one-year contract, including a guaranteed $ 8 million, its agents, Jason and Michael Katz, told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 2021 season will be Hilton’s 10th with the Colts, the only team he played for in the NFL.

He wrote in a tweet that “it is right for me to finish what I started.”

The 31-year-old spent most of his nine seasons in the NFL as the No. 1 receiver for the Colts, but had the worst start to his career in 2020 as he saw a reduced role in the attack.

After receiving just 29 passes in the first 10 games of the season – and spending almost two entire seasons without a 100-yard game – he reappeared in the final stretch with 27 receptions in the final six games, while the Colts won a local wild card. He finished with 762 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Although he has reached the 1,000 yard mark in one season five times in his career, Hilton has done so only once (2018) in the past four seasons, when injuries began to hit the veteran.

After losing just two games during his first five seasons, Hilton – the last remnant of the 2012 Colts draft that also featured quarterback Andrew Luck – has lost a total of nine games in the past three seasons.

The Pro Bowl squad four times has 608 career receptions for 9,360 yards – an average of 15.4 yards per reception – and 50 touchdowns.
