Food Network removed all content related to the 20th season of America’s worst cooks, after the arrest of the winner Ariel Robinson for the death of a child.
Robinson, 29, along with husband Jerry Robinson, 34, face charges of child abuse homicide for the death of their three-year-old adopted daughter, reports the WHNS TV news station. The child, identified as Victoria Smith, was found unanswered on January 14 at the couple’s home in Simpsonville, SC, having died from blunt injuries, according to a medical examination.
Since the arrest was made, episodes of season 20 and all clips related to it have disappeared from the Discovery Network, Hulu and YouTube pages of the Food Network. The network has not yet commented on the situation.
Robinson won $ 25,000 in the last edition of America’s worst cooks, which follows competitors with admittedly poor culinary skills while competing for the grand prize. The cast members undergo culinary training under the supervision of a famous chef, while trying to serve the best of the worst to avoid elimination.
Presented by chefs Anne Burrell and Alex Guarnaschelli, the 20th season originally aired in the summer of 2020. Robinson was declared the winner during the end of August 2nd. Season 21, with Burrell and guest mentor Carla Hall, debuted on the Food Network on January 3, 2021.
