CHARLESTON, SC (AP) – South Carolina police say a bargoer shot and injured an employee during an argument over the closure of the bar.

A Charleston police incident report says the shooting happened on Friday night, when a group of people were upset that they were asked to leave the downtown bar at closing time.

Police said the group had begun to argue with security and a 28-year-old barman went to help his co-workers.

Authorities say one of the group’s suspects drew a gun and shot the employee. The employee was wounded by a firearm in the leg and was taken to hospital.

The sniper escaped the scene.
