The story of Woody Allen’s notorious relationship with Mia Farrow and his family will be explored in a four-part documentary on HBO.
Directed by Oscar-nominated documentary filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, the series entitled “Allen v. Farrow” delves deeply into one of Hollywood’s most public scandals – the accusation that Allen had sexually abused his 7-year-old adopted daughter, Dylan. Allen repeatedly denied the charge.
In the tough custody battle that followed, it was revealed that Allen was having a relationship with Farrow’s adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn. Allen ended up marrying Previn.
HBO will premiere the first episode of the series on February 21, with new installments airing on subsequent Sundays.
The series is reminiscent of HBO’s involvement in Michael Jackson’s documentary “Leaving Neverland”, as both were filmed in secret. Jackson had been accused of pedophilia before his death in 2009. He denied the charges.
