The wretched director and his wife released a statement describing HBO’s four-part documentaries as “ax work”.

Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn broke the silence about HBO Allen v. Farrow, describing the docuseries as a “hatchet job riddled with falsehoods”.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the wretched director and his wife said that Allen v. Farrow filmmakers Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick “had no interest in the truth” and accused documentary filmmakers of “collaborating with the Farrows and their facilitators” and just giving them a “matter of days” to respond to the docuseries’ claims.

In the first episode of the four-part docuseria, which debuted on Sunday night, Dylan Farrow, daughter of actress Mia Farrow, begins to speak in detail about the incest accusations she made against Allen, who was Mia’s partner during Dylan’s. childhood. The first episode shows Allen taking care of Dylan from a very young age.

Allen v. Farrow presents unprecedented access to Dylan and Mia Farrow, interviews by Fletcher and Daisy Previn (two of Mia’s children with her ex-husband André Previn) and testimonials from friends of Farrow’s family Casey Pascal and Priscilla Gilma, who corroborate inappropriate behavior among Allen and Dylan, then a child, who is described by the mother-daughter duo.

Allen and Previn’s full statement for THR:

“These documentarians had no interest in the truth. Instead, they spent years surreptitiously collaborating with the Farrows and their facilitators to assemble an ax full of falsehoods. Woody and Soon-Yi were approached less than two months ago and received only one question. of days ‘to answer’. Of course, they refused to do so.

“As has been known for decades, these claims are categorically false. Several agencies investigated them at the time and found that, regardless of what Dylan Farrow may have been led to believe, absolutely no abuse happened. Unfortunately, it is not surprising that the network to broadcast this is HBO – which has a production deal and a business relationship with Ronan Farrow. Although this poor quality hit may get attention, it doesn’t change the facts.
