Woman who revealed Hilaria Baldwin saying that fake accent is ‘offensive’

The social media detective who sparked the Spanish-accented scandal by Hilaria Baldwin said in a new interview that the popular yoga guru should “own what she did” – and called her claims of being born in Spain “offensive and wrong”.

The woman, who started a topic on December 21 under @LeniBriscoe who questioned Baldwin’s claim that she was born in Mallorca, told the Daily Mail that she doesn’t regret being behind the confusion.

“People asked me if you have nothing better to do and the answer is, no, I don’t,” she told the news agency on condition of anonymity. “It’s a pandemic, it’s cold outside and I don’t celebrate Christmas.”

On Monday she said in her Infamous tweet: “You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her long decade of life, where she pretends to be a Spaniard.”

In the midst of the storm, Baldwin was forced to admit that, despite speaking with a questionable accent and claiming he was born in Spain, she is actually just a Boston “white girl”.

The Twitter resident told The New York Times anonymously on Wednesday that she feared going public because Hilaria’s husband, Alec Baldwin, could beat her up.

Briscoe – who attended the elite Vassar College in upstate New York – criticized Hilaria for claiming she was born in Spain.

“It is offensive and wrong to pretend that you are an immigrant and speak English as a second language and take ownership of the real experience that real immigrant women have. This is not what happened, ”she told the Daily Mail.

“She made a post saying that the park people think she is the nanny because her children are blond and have blue eyes. This is something that happens to mothers of color who really have an accent, ”she said.

“This is offensive, they are difficult experiences that people really have and she pretended. It is not really necessary. She could be an influential hot white. Many people do this, ”added Briscoe.

She also said that at first she didn’t realize that Baldwin was posing as a Spaniard before people found articles in which she talked about Spanish culture.

“It makes it worse for me,” she told the Daily Mail.

Briscoe also revealed that she has been inundated with messages since her original letter, some of which were not kind.

“Some people said I did it because I am jealous and uglier. I don’t care if I’m uglier. It seems like a lot of work to be like her, ”she told the outlet.

But she also said she “feels some responsibility” for the reaction against Baldwin on social media.

“In this case it was funny, but social media can be very cruel and harmful when there are a lot of things when someone does something that people don’t like. I don’t think that’s great, ”she said.

“People said cruel and unnecessary things. It bothered me. There are so many things for which you could criticize Hillary Baldwin, it is not necessary to make fun of how many children she has, that was really offensive to me, ”she added.

“It reminded me of when people make fun of Melania Trump for being a nude model. Who cares? This is not hurting anyone. She did other things that you can laugh at, ”said Briscoe.

“There are elements of misogyny, but it is important to call people out when they are doing things that are harmful, which I think it was,” she said.

Asked what she would say to Baldwin, Briscoe said: “I would say that she should apologize to all English immigrants and students and black mothers who are actually mistaken for their children’s nannies. She must own what she did. “
