Woman sentenced to 5 years for deadly butt injection

A Dallas woman was sentenced to five years in prison for causing the death of a nightclub dancer by giving her an illegal cosmetic injection in Missouri.

Nitica Deonte Lee, 49, was convicted on Thursday of manslaughter in the death of Daysha Phillips in 2015, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Prosecutors said Lee traveled from his Dallas home to a hotel in Edmundson, a suburb near the main St. Louis airport, where she injected the liquid silicone. Phillips, 22, died four days later, after the silicone entered his bloodstream and got stuck in his lungs.

Three others followed Phillips. One gave up and two others who received injections do not appear to have suffered any ill effects, police said at the time.

Lee, who previously served time for robbery, theft and theft, was charged a few months after Phillips’ death. But she was a fugitive for five years before being arrested by Dallas police in July. Prosecutors said she spent part of that time in Mexico.
