Woman killed in ambulance, 8 others injured in Flatlands, accident in Brooklyn

FLATLANDS, Brooklyn (WABC) – At least eight people were injured and a 95-year-old woman in an ambulance was killed after being dismantled by a car in Brooklyn.

The Citizen App video shows the overturned vehicle near Avenue N and Schenectady Ave. in the Flatlands section on Sunday.

Surveillance video shows the moment of impact when a black sedan hit the ambulance. It is not clear at this point which driver had the green light.

Police said the woman in the ambulance was already in cardiac arrest moments before the accident and paramedics were working on her. She was in the ambulance with her 65-year-old son.

It is unclear whether she died from injuries caused by the accident or a heart attack.

The other victims of the accident suffered minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation. It is not clear whether any charges will be filed.
