PEMBROKE PARK, Florida. – A destructive accident at night in Pembroke Park left one person dead.
It happened along Hallandale Beach Boulevard between 40th and 48th Avenue.
Witnesses told Local 10 News that a car was traveling east on Hallandale Beach Boulevard when it lost control and flew, colliding with a shopping mall.
Authorities said the driver of the car that lost control was a woman and that she was ejected from the vehicle. She was declared dead on the scene by the first respondents.
At least six parked vehicles were damaged in the only car accident. One of these vehicles was pushed through the front doors of Thirsty’s bar.
Thirsty’s employees said they were closed and cleaning up when the accident occurred.
Broward Sheriff’s Office units blocked part of the road for much of Sunday morning.
An investigation is underway on what caused the accident.
