England police arrested a woman in connection with a video of an allegedly “empty” hospital in Gloucestershire that was posted on social media.
Gloucestershire Police officers arrested the woman on Tuesday on suspicion of an alleged “offense to public order”.
The 46-year-old woman was released on bail until January on condition that she did not enter any NHS facility, except for a health emergency or consultation, according to local media Gloucestershire Live.
In the video posted on social networks, the woman is heard to say: “Where’s the second wave? Where are all the people dying from the second wave? ”As she wanders the wide deserted corridors of the hospital.
“We just ended up in Gloucestershire at Level 3, for that? For an empty hospital, look, this is a shame, ”continued the anonymous woman.
“To be honest, I didn’t expect it to be so quiet,” said the woman, adding, “I expected a few more people to be around.”
“This is a shame. He’s so dead. All the people in our country desperately waiting for treatment, cancer treatment, heart disease, honestly, this is making me so angry ”, she concluded.
It is said to have been shared about 80,000 times on Facebook before being removed, although supporters have uploaded it fragments of the video to other platforms, like Twitter.
A woman was arrested for filming this video of an empty hospital. This is not a crime. It is tyrannical to use the police to intimidate and harass whistleblowers. https://t.co/GMHrDyhnO2

In a statement, the Gloucestershire Police said: “After a series of reports regarding a video shot by a member of the public at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and posted online, police officers arrested a 46-year-old woman yesterday (Tuesday, 29 December) on suspicion of a crime of public order. “
“The woman was released on bail to return to the police on January 21, under the conditions that she cannot enter the NHS facility or the facility’s premises, unless in an emergency or to attend a pre-consultation – scheduled at the NHS, ”the police force added.
The woman claims that an “officer’s bandit” tried to “drag me” wearing only a nightgown and “twisted my hands behind my back and handcuffed”, although she was eventually allowed to dress. She added that she was held in a police cell until 11:30 pm before being released.
In response to the arrest, London’s mayoral candidate David Kurten said: “A woman was arrested for filming this video of an empty hospital. This is not a crime. It is tyrannical to use the police to intimidate and harass whistleblowers. “
