WME rules out Morgan Wallen after racial slur incident – Deadline

The consequences for Morgan Wallen continue to roll, as the WME confirmed that it abandoned the country singer after a video of him saying that the word N circulated on the internet.

The agency’s retaliation adds to the growing list of actions previously taken by Viacom’s CMT and the singer’s former label, Big Loud Records. On Tuesday, TMZ posted a video of the singer using racial slander after an evening with friends.

Faced with the controversial moment of the singer, Big Loud Records suspended his contract and CMT withdrew the singer from all platforms. Following the example, the Academy of Country Music Awards revoked the singer’s eligibility for the current award cycle.

It is not the first time that the singer goes viral for controversial actions.

In October, a video that appeared on Twitter and Wallen’s TikTok participating in a party amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Like many of the partygoers, he was not wearing a mask and even kissed a woman without a mask. As a result of the viral video, SNL took Wallen from what should be his debut on the Studio 8H stage, exchanging him for Jack White.

However, even after his apology on Instagram and the postponement of his SNL show, Wallen received a second chance to appear on the NBC skit show. In addition to presenting two musical numbers, Wallen appeared alongside presenter Jason Bateman for a skit that mocked the singer’s coronavirus party.
