MADISON, Wisconsin (AP) – Wisconsin plans to greatly expand the number of people eligible for the coronavirus vaccine by about 2 million people, including those with certain pre-existing conditions, as positive cases decrease and vaccine availability increases .
Governor Tony Evers and state health officials planned to announce the next level of eligibility on Thursday afternoon. It is not known exactly which pre-existing conditions will qualify and when the group will be eligible.
The expansion occurred when virus-related restrictions were easing across the state and country. The Madison Metropolitan School District, the second largest in the state, announced on Thursday that all students would return to face-to-face classes until April 27, after kindergarten students were the first to return this week.
