MADISON, Wis. – Health professionals have administered more than 520,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine across the state.

According to the most recent data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, 521,762 doses of vaccine were administered. Nearly 100,000 Wisconsin residents received their second dose.

The latest vaccine numbers emerged while the infection rate across the state continued on a downward trend. On Saturday, the seven-day positivity rate for new tests per person was 19.5%, representing a two-tenth of a percentage point increase over Friday. The equivalent of seven days for the total daily tests dropped two tenths of a percentage point to 5.3%.

To date, 541,408 Wisconsin residents have tested positive for COVID-19. That represents 1,493 additional confirmed cases since Friday afternoon. About 19,600 patients, about 4% of all confirmed cases, still have active infections, according to DHS.

Another 33 deaths from COVID-19 were confirmed on Saturday, bringing the death toll in the state to 5,893.

In the past three days, the number of new hospitalizations has remained relatively consistent. DHS officials reported on Saturday that 89 people had been hospitalized in the past 24 hours.
