The Wisconsin Badgers (4-3 overall) won the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-5 overall, 3-4 ACC) at Duke’s Mayo Bowl, by 42-28. There was a lot of joy throughout Wisconsin and wherever fans of Mayonnaise-loving Badgers flocked. Ending the season on a high note, defeating Minnesota and winning your bowl game in consecutive games was great for players, coaches and fans.
So…
Then 2020 hit again.
The Badgers broke the duke’s Mayo Bowl trophy in the locker room and, frankly, we were never more upset about anything that happened in our lives. In fact, WR Adam Krumholz’s reaction is somewhat underestimated, if we say so. We needed there to be mayonnaise in ANYTHING and when the trophy was broken and no mayonnaise came out … well … we couldn’t hide our shock and disappointment either.
Fortunately, coach Paul Chryst is taking it all in stride and has announced that everyone will take home a small piece of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl trophy. We wonder, however, what Chryst would say if he were under oath. We may need to involve the B5Q legal team.
Paul Chryst just asked about the destroyed Duke’s Mayo Bowl trophy.
“I’m not under oath, so I don’t know if I have to answer … I just want everyone to have a piece of that trophy. #Badgers
