Previous rumors of super-fast wireless charging on the OnePlus 9 Pro may have been conservative. Well-known leaker Ishan Agarwal said Pricebaba that the OnePlus 9 Pro will boast 50W wireless charging – even faster than the 45W previously claimed, and well beyond the 30W you saw on the 8 Pro.
As expected, OnePlus would launch a 50 W wireless charging dock along with the 9 Pro. Details on this are not available, although it is reasonable to assume that it would include active cooling to deal with the heat from high speed inductive energy. . This charger would probably be essential to achieve full performance as well, as it goes well beyond the standard Qi specifications.

The standard OnePlus 9 is also believed to include wireless charging, according to a previous Max Jambor leak, although it is unclear whether it would be as powerful.
If necessary, that would be no small feat. A 50 W wireless option would not be far behind the already confirmed 65 W wired charge for the 9 Pro – you could recharge your phone in minutes without having to look for a cable.
More details about the phone are expected at the OnePlus virtual event on March 23.
Whether or not you want to use this feature is often not right. Fast charging at these levels can drain your battery to begin with. Wireless charging, by its nature, also tends to waste energy – you may see a slightly higher energy bill if you’re always recharging your device that way. The option can still be appreciated, however, and there are indications of an even faster 100W load on the horizon.
