DETROIT – Snow has been moving to southeastern Michigan since about 2 am on Tuesday, and we will have periods of snow during the day.
The most consistent snow will fall north of 8 Mile Road, with less additional snow during the day south of there. In fact, parts of Lenawee and Monroe counties could even see an icy drizzle.
Generally speaking, it appears that most Lenawee and Monroe counties will see less than an inch of snow, I-94 to M-59 / Hall Road likely about two inches, and north of the M-59, probably between 7 and 10 centimeters, as you will receive the longest snow.
Like yesterday, I put my forecast for specific amounts of snow in your area in the 4ZONE forecast, which you can easily see at ClickOnDetroit.com and our FREE Local4Casters weather app.
The National Meteorological Service issued a winter weather alert until 4 pm Tuesday for areas generally south of M-59 and until 11 pm for areas generally north of M-59.
Temperatures today are only going to rise a few degrees, maybe even almost zero (0 degrees Celsius), with a northeast wind turning north at 10 to 15 mph.
Today’s sunrise is at 7:52 am and today’s sunset is at 5:40 pm
Snow decreases on Tuesday night, with minimum temperatures of -5 degrees Celsius (between 20 and 20 degrees).
Very cloudy on Wednesday, with highs of the order of 20s (-2 to -1 degree Celsius). Partly cloudy and much colder on Wednesday night, with minimum temperatures of half to half (-11 degrees Celsius).
Partly cloudy on Thursday and Friday, with highs in the mid-20s (-4 degrees Celsius) and lows on Thursday night again between low and mid-20s (-11 degrees Celsius).
There are some changes offered by computer models in terms of how to deal with our next storm, and the biggest change is to slow it down. Now I think we will be dry on Saturday, with rising clouds in the afternoon. Maximum above 20s (-2 to -1 degree Celsius).
Sunday seems cloudy, with snow perhaps appearing later in the day. Maximum in the 30s (0 degrees Celsius).
