The storm that brought snow to Texas this weekend is now moving in the Mississippi Valley. Warnings of winter storms are still high in parts of eastern Texas to parts of Louisiana and Mississippi, with temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees below average in some cities.
“Bring your pets inside!” tweeted the National Weather Service in Brownsville on Sunday night.
“Slippery stains are possible on elevated surfaces, be careful if you need to get out!” tweeted the Shreveport National Weather Service on Monday morning. “We are hovering at 33 degrees here at #Shreveport airport at 214 am, but some areas may be freezing or below!”

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development tweeted that parts of the state are starting to snow on the ground.
“If you don’t need to travel, wait until the roads are clear and conditions improve,” he tweeted.
The wintry climate will slow down on Monday with mostly rain and some thunderstorms to the southeast on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the northern and central plains to the midwest will experience above average temperatures this week.
