A strong winter storm hit the Midwest of the United States on Tuesday, canceling hundreds of flights, closing coronavirus test sites and creating impossible conditions for drivers.
The National Weather Service issued warnings about winter storms to Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Illinois.

As the system crossed Cornhusker, Nebraska, the storm poured more than 7 inches on Tuesday afternoon.
Iowans also experienced heavy snowfalls, with totals of more than 30 centimeters, while Wisconsin saw up to 20 centimeters.

Chicago Midway Airport received more than 7 centimeters of snow, O’Hare International Airport measured 2.6 centimeters and Rockford Airport registered more than 15 centimeters on Wednesday morning.
Transportation was prevented in most states due to snowfall, causing visibility problems for drivers and drivers.
Nebraska State Patrol said soldiers responded to more than 150 weather-related incidents, and the Iowa Department of Transportation asked residents to delay their travel plans. Kansas and Illinois police also reported several accidents, and the Missouri Department of Transportation said the roads were covered with snow.
In addition, the accumulation of ice overloading power lines has led to hundreds of power outages in Iowa, Nebraska and northwest Missouri, according to the Nebraska News Channel.
State agencies are on standby as a second front from the Great Lakes to the Southern Plains moves east to the northeast coast and southwest to the western Gulf coast.

Texas, Mississippi and Mid-Atlantic have a winter mix, with storms and heavier rains – albeit small in size – expected by the end of the week.
