Ariel Robinson, the most recent winner of the Food Network series America’s worst cooks, and her husband were arrested for alleged child abuse homicide involving the death of their 3-year-old adopted daughter, Victoria Rose Smith.
Ariel, a 29-year-old former elementary school teacher and amateur stand-up comedian, and husband Jerry Robinson, 34, did not publicly comment on the accusations. After their arrests, the entire 20th season of the reality show was removed from the cable channel’s VOD offerings, while the previous seasons and the 21st season, which premiered earlier this month, are available for broadcast.
Season 20 of America’s worst cooks it is also not available on Discovery +, Hulu and YouTube, deadline reported on Saturday, January 23. Food Network and parent company Discovery Networks also declined to comment.
According to local TV affiliate FOX Carolina, on the afternoon of January 14, Simpsonville, SC police received a call about a young victim who did not respond. She was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. The local coroner identified her as Victoria and determined that the cause of her death was multiple blunt injuries.
On Tuesday, January 19, Ariel and Jerry were charged with child abuse homicide, prison records show. A judge denied bail.
